I’ve been looking forward to blogging these images of Annah’s newborn home photoshoot, along with her parents, brother Liam, and the family doggies (I love a shoot where I get to photograph children AND children with their dogs!)
Newborn shoots are so different to family shoots in that I purposefully try to keep the environment calm and controlled, so as not to over stimulate the baby and disturb those peaceful sleeping shots. It’s a very sacred and unique time when a new baby arrives, and I never come away from a job feeling more privileged and honoured than when I am invited into someone’s home to photograph their family for a newborn photo shoot.
Annah was as good as gold – sleepy for the still shots, but opening her eyes just in time for a few family frames, and to look at her parents. Liam too, played along excellently, and the shot of him holding his baby sister is amongst one of my favourites to date.
This shoot was an absolute pleasure to do (and yes, this blog post does have more images than normalĀ – I have too many favourites to leave out! )
Have a look – and please do not miss the only dog I have ever photographed who actually SMILED for the camera….
